Fireside Chat and Q&A. Building Global SaaS from the Region When Everyone Has AI
- September 25
- Warsaw
- BelTech 4.0
Expert
Aliaksandr Kuushynau, Head of Wialon at Gurtam. He joined in 2009 as CMO and went on to build and run the Wialon division: product, commercial strategy, and a global team. Over his years there, Wialon grew into a platform connecting over 4 million vehicles and assets across 160+ countries, through 2,700 partner companies running their own businesses on top of it. Gurtam started in Minsk, is now headquartered in Vilnius, and has grown without outside investment.
Why it matters
Every conference has an AI talk now. AI supposedly can do everything — software development, marketing, planning, sales. But does it actually change anything inside a business? Are the products getting better? Is the work getting cheaper? And how much is everyone spending on tokens to make this happen?
Then there’s the bigger question. People keep saying “SaaS is dead.” The same models are available to you, your competitors, and your customers. If software becomes easy to build, what stops someone from copying your product? What will a customer still pay for?
Nobody knows exactly how this ends. But you still have a business to run today. You have to decide whom to hire, what to build, where to spend money, and what can wait.
Aliaksandr makes those decisions inside a global SaaS business. We’ll talk about what he has tried, what worked, what didn’t, and what he expects to happen next — including the decisions he’s already making because of it.
In this #6 DZ CLUB event, Aliaksandr Kuushynau will share his perspective on:
→ Growing without investors
What has staying bootstrapped cost Gurtam? Would Aliaksandr make the same choice today?
→ The team and AI
Does AI change whom you hire, or only how they work? Do you still hire juniors? Where does AI work best, where did it fail?
→ Better products? Faster? Cheaper?
Look at the apps on your phone. Which one got radically better in the last year? What’s happening at Wialon — and have they built AI features that customers didn’t need?
→ What can’t be vibe-coded?
What stops someone from copying Wialon? If partners can build software themselves, why will they still need it? Which advantages survive when writing the code gets easy?
→ “SaaS is dead.” Meanwhile, you have a business to run.
What does Aliaksandr expect AI to change in the next two or three years? What is he doing now because of that? What has he decided not to build?
→ Building global from the region
How do you sell in more than 160 countries? And why keep your Belarusian roots visible instead of posing as Lithuanian, American or Dubai-based? Would hiding them make selling easier?
This event is ideal for
This event is for founders, engineers, and operators who have heard enough about how AI will change everything and want to hear how someone running a global software business is actually dealing with it.
